Which WJEC GCSE Papers Are Still Coming on 9–11 November 2026?
Check the WJEC GCSE papers on 9–11 November 2026, including new Made for Wales units and legacy resit-only exams. Match your code, tier and language.
The November 2026 WJEC GCSE series is not quite over. WJEC’s final timetable lists morning papers on Monday 9, Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 November. The essential last check is the full code on your school or college entry confirmation: similar subject names can belong to different qualifications.
| Date | Paper | Code and duration |
|---|---|---|
| Mon 9 Nov | Legacy WJEC GCSE Mathematics Unit 2 — resit only | Foundation 3300U20-1, 1h 30m; Intermediate 3300U40-1, 1h 45m; Higher 3300U60-1, 1h 45m |
| Tue 10 Nov | Legacy WJEC GCSE English Language Unit 3 — resit only | 3700U30-1, 2h |
| Tue 10 Nov | New Made for Wales GCSE Cymraeg Language and Literature Unit 4b | 3030NH0-1, 2h |
| Wed 11 Nov | Legacy WJEC GCSE Welsh Language Unit 3 — resit only | 3000N30-1, 2h |
| Wed 11 Nov | New Made for Wales GCSE Mathematics and Numeracy (Double Award) Unit 3 | Foundation 3320U30-1, 1h 45m; Higher 3320UC0-1, 2h |
These entries come from WJEC’s final November 2026 timetable. They do not mean every learner in Wales sits these papers. Follow your centre’s confirmation for your entry, arrival time, assessment language and access arrangements.
New qualification or legacy resit?
3300 and 3320 are different Maths qualifications. Monday’s 3300 Unit 2 belongs to the legacy WJEC GCSE Mathematics resit route. Wednesday’s 3320 Unit 3 belongs to the new Made for Wales GCSE Mathematics and Numeracy (Double Award), taught from 2025. Legacy resit eligibility has conditions for post-16 candidates who previously cashed in the qualification. Check your entry with your centre rather than assuming that a paper with “Maths” in its title is yours.
The language papers need the same care. Tuesday’s 3700 English Language and Wednesday’s 3000 Welsh Language entries are labelled resit only. Tuesday’s 3030 Cymraeg Language and Literature Unit 4b is part of a new qualification. Choose practice material by qualification and unit, not by the subject name alone.
WJEC also notes that the legacy GCSE Mathematics–Numeracy exams usually held in November have moved to January 2027. That does not move the new 3320 Unit 3 paper scheduled for 11 November. If your entry says legacy Mathematics–Numeracy, ask your centre to confirm the date and code.
Worked example: match your entry to the right practice
Imagine that Carys’s centre confirms WJEC GCSE Mathematics and Numeracy (Double Award), 3320QD, Unit 3 Foundation, 3320U30-1, in English for the November 2026 series. WJEC lists that paper for Wednesday 11 November, in the morning, lasting 1 hour 45 minutes.
Carys finds an older “WJEC Maths Unit 2” paper marked 3300U20-1. She does not use it as a match: 3300 is the legacy qualification and Unit 2 is not her confirmed 3320 Unit 3. She asks her teacher for practice aligned with her entry and confirms the language, equipment and arrival instructions.
This is a fictional example of checking an entry, not a prediction of the paper. The same five checks work for any row in the timetable: qualification, unit code, tier where relevant, assessment language and exam series. Make the remaining practice count
Choose one short task linked to the paper you are actually sitting. Use a teacher-approved question or correctly matched resource, answer it under the appropriate conditions, check your method and retry one error. If your entry is Welsh-medium, practise using Welsh-medium material and terms confirmed by your teacher.
Then check your centre’s instructions for permitted equipment, travel and arrival. Do not infer calculator permission from the word “Maths”; check your unit and your centre’s guidance. If an online timetable appears to conflict with your entry confirmation, contact the centre promptly.
The past-paper practice guide explains how to get useful feedback from a matched question. The November Maths revision plan has the wider sequence across boards; at this point, focus on your next confirmed unit.
One focused next step

AI feedback can be inaccurate, so check important points against your teacher and the official specification or mark scheme. If you cannot verify your exact route in the app, use your centre’s materials.
