Terms of service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using OmniStudy AI (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of service

OmniStudy AI is an educational revision tool designed to help UK students prepare for GCSE and A-Level examinations. The App provides AI-generated study materials including flashcards, quizzes, exam-style questions, knowledge organisers, revision games, reading comprehension exercises, and AI tutoring assistance. The App supports English and Welsh (Cymraeg) languages.

3. Subscription plans (auto-renew, monthly)

• Free plan: limited to 1 subject.
• Premium plan: up to 5 subjects, AI tutor, knowledge organisers (£4.99/month).
• Pro plan: unlimited subjects, all features (£9.99/month).

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account settings (iOS), Google Play account settings (Android), or through the App’s settings (web/Stripe).

Payment will be charged to your App Store, Google Play, or Stripe account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4. User accounts

4a. Local accounts

The App can be used without creating an account. A local profile is created on your device during setup. No email address or personal information beyond a display name is required.

4b. Cloud accounts (optional)

You may optionally create a Cloud Account using an email address and password to back up your data and restore it on other devices. Cloud Accounts are managed through Firebase Authentication.

4c. Account deletion

If you have created a Cloud Account, you may permanently delete it at any time through Settings, Cloud Account, Delete Account. This will remove your authentication record and all cloud-stored data. Local data on your device is not affected. This action cannot be undone.

5. User responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information if you choose to create a Cloud Account
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only
• Not share your account credentials with others
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or exploit the App
• Not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on third-party rights through the Source Library or AI Tutor

6. AI-generated content

The App uses Google’s Gemini AI to generate educational content. By using the App, you acknowledge that:

• Your study content (subject names, topics, questions, answers, and uploaded images) is sent to Google’s servers for processing
• No personal information (such as your name or email) is included in AI requests
• AI content may contain errors and should be verified against official exam board specifications
• The App is a revision aid, not a replacement for qualified teaching
• We do not guarantee exam results or academic outcomes
• Predicted grades are estimates based on practice performance and do not guarantee actual exam results

7. Source Library and user-uploaded content

The App allows you to upload documents (PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC) for AI-powered analysis. By uploading content:

• You confirm you have the right to use the uploaded materials
• Uploaded documents are processed by Google Cloud Vision and Google Gemini AI
• We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content
• Uploaded content is stored locally on your device and is not retained on our servers after processing

8. Intellectual property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by Edward Jones and protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

AI-generated study materials are provided for your personal educational use only and may not be redistributed commercially.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our privacy policy. By using the App, you consent to our collection and use of data as described therein. Key points:

• Data is stored locally on your device by default
• Cloud backup is optional and requires creating a Cloud Account
• Study content is processed by third-party AI services (Google Gemini)
• We do not sell your personal information

10. Third-party services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI: content generation and tutoring
• Google Firebase: authentication and cloud data storage (optional)
• Google Cloud Vision: document text extraction
• RevenueCat: subscription management
• Render: backend hosting

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OmniStudy AI and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Inaccuracies in AI-generated content
• Loss of data stored locally on your device
• Exam results or academic outcomes
• Interruptions to the service

12. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may delete your Cloud Account at any time through the App’s settings.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
